I feel very sorry for the guy. I've been involved and around enough mentally ill people to know how difficult it is. You just listen to them and your heart weeps. Most of them are really alone. People have abandoned them because they are a nuisance, so they really don't have any support. The lucky ones that do have fam or close friends who go the distance with them tend to do well along with taking any meds they need and going to therapy. If you are alone or feel alone, you don't care and you tend to be a ticking quite possibly suicidal bomb..
It sounds like he really has no one. His mom is old and losing her biz. Bro offed himself. Where is dad? Anyone else? I mean if folks on fft and fbg are writing him off as a nuisance, imagine irl. You can ignore posts/threads on a message board. I don't get this ignore feature thing folks have going. Like one guy said, you never know if something this person on your ignore list isn't actually posting something you just may learn something of value.
He needs someone he trusts and cares about to be there for him for the long haul, and encourage him to get help and stick with it. He has been ok when he was on his meds. Not all his posts have been erratic. On top of this if he is an alcoholic, then dual diagnosis is that much harder to treat even when the person is ready for help. He's probably looking at his life wondering what's the point. No one understands me, cares, so he keeps on. Sad, and sad he has no one there to help him long term try and climb back because without good support, you are trying to climb out of a deep hole with one leg and not two..
