Neuropathy. Many chemos cause this numbness and tingling in hands and feet. For some it's permanent. Tip to help with that is to use ice mats on your hands and feet while the chemo is being infused. Or on Amazon you can get gloves and socks. More comfortable. I have a little neuropathy from time to time. I had harsh chemos so I'm glad I got tips for managing ses on breastcancer.org. So many think docs and the team know such things. They don't unless they went through it. I wound up giving all my tips to them to incorporate into their speel.
My chemos caused my white blood cells to plumet. Bone marrow couldn't produce it fast enough before being destroyed. So I got the neulasta shot the day after infusions. Ramped up wbc production but the se was bone pain. Someone on the boards said plain Claritin took care of that. No one knows why but it works!
My biggest tip, if you are dxd with breast cancer, join breastcancer.org. Docs and team don't know such things. I volunteered to compile my findings from digging on that board into their binder of info. Felt good helping others coming in after me.
For other cancers, try to find an active forum to get tips. If none, go to support groups to see if you can get tips. No one knows better than someone who's been through it. In mine back then there were some who were done with txs but stuck around to share. Don't think you get all helpful info from your team. There are some awesome tips they don't know that us in the trenches do.

Today is my 6 year cancerversary, the day I got official confirmation. It's also my mom's birthday. I almost forgot about the cancerversary. Being out for awhile cancer free does that. Follow up appts with my cardiologist, oncologist, surgeon (who checks for lumps), pcp and plastic surgeon (who checks to make sure my recalled implants are still ok) continues. Port flush every 2 months and labs as well.
For those fighting, keep the faith. There are a lot of great txs out there. Stay healthy and stay strong. Reach out for support and cut out all negative people, even if it's family. Having a good positive environment is half the battle, even if it means doing it alone like I did.
Prayers out to all of you. Hang in there and take it 1 step at a time, 1 day at a time.
❤🙏🏻❤

Getting tired of appts. Oncology today. Rushed out of feeding Anna's mother in assisted living to get there and dude is 30 minutes late! 5 min of answering same old questions and an exam. Then he says see you in 4 months. Whyyyy? 2 years ago my onc was about to put me on twice or even once a year. But I'm high risk and he's more dialed in than my previous onc.
Next week port flush and labs. Then to find out why I'm bleeding again when all the fibroids have been decimated. 😐

RIP gocolts. I went back and read your pms and posts. You were one of the kindest nicest people I've never met. May you be reunited with your parents and be happy in heaven. Xx
