This new kid in Cleveland is putting up decent numbers with no one else on the team. Does this spell the end for 50 year old second year qb wheedin?

They are a few months behind the curve and evaluating talent during the regular season, rather than preseason. Rumor has them tooling at Ben Tate for next year at RB

Another in a long line of studs to leave New England :shaker: Studs = QBs desperate teams roll the dice on and then still fail miserably despite their best efforts.

There's no controversy now. It's Hoyer the Destroyer for the win!

And now the worst kind of controversy sets up. If Weeden plays acceptably, they go into camp wondering who their guy is. That franchise is cursed.

The proper reaction is 'Hallelujah!' Believe me, I was a Lions fan waiting 30 years for an acceptable QB before we took Matthew Stafford first overall in 2009. Jon Kitna was 'acceptable' - he was the best QB we had all those years. Thank you footballgods for the Jon Kitna years! Before him it was Charlie Batch or Gary Danielson who were just a tad under 'acceptable'. Both of them were much better than Scott Mitchell and Rodney Peete who were total focking disasters. Jeff Garcia was past his prime, Eric Kramer and Eric Hipple were OK at best. First round picks were wasted on Andre Ware and Chuck Long neither of whom ever played more than than their cameo appearences in garbage time blowouts.
Now I don't watch college football, (it's something I've had to give up living overseas) but a buddy (jvirne) says there may be as many as nine QBs graded as first round caliber in this next draft. So help could be on the horizon for a team picking ~early-to-mid first round or even wait until day two.
