As far as government involvement in an a specific industry? I'm thinking not along the lines of the banks or automakers....Those guys pretty much HAD to have the help? And was there this much of an uproar.....Thoughts? :dunno:

Auto insurance. Alcohol & cigarettes. The prescription drug industry. Food labeling requirements.

Auto insurance. Alcohol & cigarettes. The prescription drug industry. Food labeling requirements. I'm probably too young to really remember any of those except food labeling, and that doesn't seem to get the same kind of press. Though I do know food companies are dumping millions into blocking GMO labels. And I don't remember much about the calorie serving size labels either. Care to elaborate?

I'm afraid I don't really feel like elaborating right now, sorry. It's a lazy Saturday for me. My only point was that a number of industries are fairly heavily regulated, maybe not in the precise manner and to the same extent as the healthcare industry after Obamacare, but it's not unprecedented.

It's just an angle to redistribute a lot of money. If it's a given that health care costs will take up an increasing percentage of income, and they have free reign to subsidize and gouge whom they choose its a way to control income. It's also a back door way of easily changing the amounts. Premiums are going to increase which gives cover to mess with the subsidies

Obamacare is a huge disaster. It maybe the biggest disaster since the Nazi tried to invaded the Soviet Union.

Obamacare is a huge disaster. It maybe the biggest disaster since the Nazi tried to invaded the Soviet Union. Obamacare is just like the Iran peace deal in that we'll know much more about it in six months.
