Radiation onc visit, check. Who knows if I'll need radiation but just in case they have you meet the doc who examines you as well and goes over details of what it entails. Another thing that will get figured out after sx. I'm starting to think what the hell is known for sure BEFOREhand? Almost nothing really. I know it's a 4 cm grade 3 aggressive tumor. Everything becomes nailed down while in sx when they take stuff out and do path then. Almost thinking what's the point of seeing the med onc. I already know what I'll hear: who knows if I'll get it and how it would be administered until after sx. I already know possible side effects and all. Do I have to gooooooooooooo? :dunno:
I'm friggin pooped! It bloody hot out there too. It's time to take a much needed snoozy that I hope will be a doozy. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, slept a good 4 hours this afternoon! Now for the therefore you aren't going to sleep much again tonight.. round and round we go. :pillowfight: Was actually woken up by the phone. Have MRI next Thurs. Oh this sounds really really, and I mean REALLY fun. You are face down in the tube for 1 HOUR. I was like, for how long? Thought I heard wrong. Nope, 1 HOUR. And I have to lie on my stomach/boobs as in the area of discomfort that I avoid? Me thinks I may need to get an Rx for Ativan like I've been offered for as needed. Might as well be relaxed and loopy! :cokesniff:

The intake coordinator at the hospital labs asked me today if I wanted a pink ribbon when she saw my dx. I hate pink. I hate any shade of pink. If you notice, I have the general cancer awareness logo in my avatar, not that most god awful color ever in the world for breast cancer, ever. Yuk!..... So I politely declined. :stop:

What do you mean your not going to wear the ribbon. You Have to wear the Ribbon !!!! Over my deceased body! My favorite color is the color orange you find at dusk. It's deep and yet glowing. I feel this color would be much more appropriate of ribbon color when you consider that learning about this and going through it is deep, and between chemo and radiation, you'll be a radiantly glowing! lol

Could not do it. Told her to get me out NOW. She said you are almost all the way in now. So I yelled "Get me the fuck out this GAWD damn thing RIGHT NOW." She pulled me out and apologized. I almost told her it was a good thing she was not a man, or she would have been knocked the fock out. I even told her I had a MAJOR issue with this thing. Focking cunt. lol

Thankfully I'm not claustrophobic so that's not the thing with me. It's the 1 hour lying on the parts that hurt that's got me needing to premedicate beforehand. I've been in the tube before. Here they give you headphones so you can listen to tunes and block out that jackhammer noise.

Wishing you the best of luck!
I still remember when I had to get an MRI on my leg after my car accident. They needed 3 different angles and 1 of them was contortionist level shit.

Thanks FM! I was like eh? wtf?? WTF??? You put your head in a donut hole pillow, like you do when you get a massage, so it's not comfy as it would be more if I could rest my head on the side. Ativan is going to become my bff it looks like. Got it in my purse now! lol.
Should be pretty funny if I post while on that stuff. It makes you loopy and sound kind of drunk- which is VERY hilarious because I don't drink. Almost like a twin but opposite of me..

I just looked at the clock. It's 3:03 am here in sweltering CA. Actually it's cooled down well enough to where I could turn off my a/c and just open all windows. I guess I should try to sleep now. Taking these 4 hour naps makes me lose track of how late in the night, or is it how early in the morning it is? :confusored:

Is insomnia a symptom of cancer or is it a menopausal thing? Or both?

Is insomnia a symptom of cancer or is it a menopausal thing? Or both? Insomnia is quite common in wired people like type A personalities, stressed out folks, and/or high anxieties. That's part of the reason the rxs for people with anxiety problems makes you loopy so it will hopefully make you sleepy to so you can sleep. Ativan, if you take it during the day, get ready to be sounding like you had a minor stroke. I did a low dose at work one time and never again. Patients were like wtf while staff were like lol. So no more during the day unless I'm at home, and alone! lol. Major depressed people can go either way as far as insomnia is concerned. Some sleep a ton while others can't sleep. It's an idividual thing, but majority can sleep at the drop of a hat. As relating to my cancer, while I don't feel stressed about it per se, my subconscious could be and therefore contributing to it. As for menopause, I have read of it causing insomnia, but I think myself it's more from the wonderful shit we get to experience when we get there with the night sweats, hot flashes, etc. Some people are lucky like my bff who helps me in that she's never had menopause symptoms and sleeps like a baby and well every dang night. She's 64. Then you have my aunt who sleeps maybe 2 hours a night and is constantly hot/cold all the dang time. Feel bad for her. I've heard them say that not only you look at your mom's age when she stopped for an indication of what yours may be, but about the symptoms and all too. My mom has 20 years on me. I find that I do take a lot of physiological stuff from her so I do believe this to be true. Ironcially though the stats for getting breast cancer if there is no family hx doesn't add up in my case. I have 0 fam hx and I am the pioneer to this unchartered territory that is breast cancer. :/

It's 10:30 pm. It's dinner time! Shrimp/avocado/tomato/cilantro salad with olive oil and lime juice. Very refreshing on this warm Saturday night. I hope to be able to sleep before 3:00 am tonight/tomorrow morning but I think my body is getting used to this backasswards schedule of mine.. :/
